ELEPHANT BEACH

Elephant Beach is one of those unique beaches on Havelock Island which is not at all crowded, and you can go snorkeling and see everything from eels to sea horses, yes the kingfisher calander was shot here.

This is a snorkelling mecca, with a rich field of corals nearby. Apparently, this also used to be a good beach till the tsunami hit Havelock. Sure enough, a closer look at the waterfront and a short walk into the woods behind confirms this. Though much of the coral reefs got swept away, what remains is still a good draw for snorkelling, and the more costlier but rewarding scuba dives.
